 WHY SIMULATORS

All with the training in a Simulator

There are a few problems with Traditional Flight Schools. Most Flight Schools don't have flight simulators and the few that do, don't utilize them to their full potential. One reason they don't have simulators is because of the cost. However, the main reason is these flight schools cannot generate enough revenue using simulators over airplanes. On top of that, nearly all CFI's (Certified Flight Instructors) are working at a flight school to build time, so they could fly someday for the regionals and eventually the airliners. They won't push the student to use a simulator because the CFI cannot log in the time as they would be able to in an actual plane. This is one of the biggest reasons it's super expensive for student pilots to obtain their pilot's certificate.

Another issue with traditional flight schools is the cost of getting a pilot certificate and obtaining additional ratings is extremely expensive.

By using our state of the art Flight Simulators

You will spend a lot less than you would if you went the traditional route. Even though not all the hours that a logged in a simulator will count towards your certificate, the realistic training will have you obtain your certificate in less hours, thus saving you thousands of dollars. Recent studies showed that students are ready for their checkride in as little as 35 hours, after logging about 8-10 hours in our simulators, as opposed to the national average of 60-75, even though only 40 hours are required. Think about how much more money you would spend by going the traditional route, where every lesson has to be in an actual airplane, with a CFI. Now, as a pilot, myself, I would rather fly a real airplane, but when I was learning, there was a lot of money spent that could have gone to, let’s say, fuel and rental costs for when I did get my ticket. Wouldn’t you rather spend that extra $3,000 towards your passion...that’s a lot of $100 hamburgers. (if you don’t know what that is, you will, when you become a pilot.)

The FAA is recognizing simulator training more and more as technology gets better. Here is what the FAA currently allows for simulator training:

- 2.5hrs of your Private-Pilot training
- 20hrs of your Instrument Rating
- 50hrs of your Commercial License
- 9 out of 10 requirements of an Instrument Proficiency Check

FAA believes that the current design and technology of ATDs has advanced and provides a greater opportunity for the advancement of instrument skills and improved proficiency, as well as a wider range of experiences and scenarios, which justifies their increased use in § 61.57(c)(2)...
