Unless you’re a pilot or flying enthusiast, 99% of the community drives around the airport and don’t know there’s a flight school there.
Most Flight Schools don't have flight simulators and the few that do, don't utilize them to their full potential. One reason they don't have simulators is because of the cost. However, the main reason is these flight schools cannot generate enough revenue using simulators over airplanes. On top of that, nearly all CFI's (Certified Flight Instructors) are working at a flight school to build time, so they could fly someday for the regionals and eventually the airliners. They won't push the student to use a simulator because the CFI cannot log in the time as they would be able to in an actual plane. This is one of the biggest reasons it's super expensive for student pilots to obtain their pilot's certificate.
Another issue with traditional flight schools is the cost of getting a pilot certificate and obtaining additional ratings is extremely expensive.
Lastly, the Government recognizes the pilot shortage and is providing funding to Grade schools and Universities to offer Aviation as a course. However, these schools don't have a viable avenue to obtain quality Aviation tools, such as a Flight Simulator.
Solution
GoFly Sims will be set up in retail locations where those 99% users will see, thus, drawing them in. GoFly Sims will drastically reduce costs by providing state of the art, FAA approved Flight Simulators. Flight Simulators can be operated at a fraction of the cost as opposed to an actual airplane.
Market
The target audience at GoFly Sims is current pilots, future pilots, flight schools, Universities/Colleges/High schools,and airplane enthusiasts. Specifically, current pilots can complete currency training, Instrument Proficiency Checks, IFR rating (Instrument), Commercial Rating, etc.
Future pilots can learn the basics of flying at a much lower cost using an FAA approved simulator than the high cost of an actual plane. The more a student pilot can practice on a simulator, the less time they would need in an actual plane. Thus saving a tremendous amount of money.
Airplane enthusiasts can “try out” what it’s like to fly an airplane, all in the safety of a simulator. The first Lunar Landing was all done in simulators.
Flight Schools, Universities, high schools, etc. will have an avenue to either send students to the GoFly Sim Centers or purchase a high tech Flight Simulator.
Competition
One might say that current, established flight schools would be the major competition for GoFly Sims. However, most flight schools in operation today, are having a hard time keeping a float. If they are not making money offering other things, they are struggling.
GoFly Sims not only will be the leader in flight training because of their revolutionary way of training, they will ignite flight schools to thrive, seeing more people will be able to afford flight lessons and more people will be attracted to flight. GoFly Sims will partner with flight schools to send their participants to where the actual airplanes are. GoFly Sims will save the flight training industry.
